Doepfer Worm consists of collages from recordings
I made during my first encounter and experiments
with synthesizers. I was loaned a Doepfer Dark
Energy, and then I spent a week at the synth-filled
WORM studio in Rotterdam. Not having a clue about
how these things work, I wanted to hear what would
happen if I went in there unprepared. A process of
trial and error ensued: flipping switches, pressing
buttons and patching cables. It was a lot of fun.
Whilst editing the material for this CD I tried to main-
tain the roughness and playfulness of the original
recordings, to preserve an element of surprise and
chance. There wasn’t any post processing, just a
thorough selection process and some layering and

I go to sleep listening to this song, and I wake up in a beautiful dream state in the morning. It also helps me focus while I write and work. I was heartbroken when this song disappeared on Spotify, so the hunt began. I must say, this song was very difficult to find, but all the more rewarding when I found it. Jonathan Tilley
